Propp and Todorov

Propp is the basic study and analysis of the basic narrative of a film. Propp consist of six layout points that help analyse a film which are:

• Preparation
• Complication
• Transference
• Struggle
• Return
• Recognition

The theory was orginally discovered by Vladimir Propp.

Todorov is alos the basic is also the study or analysis of fim. It uses 5 points to help analysis a film which is:

1) Equilibirum

2) Distripution

3) Recognition of disruption

4) Attempt to repair disruption

5) A return or restoration of NEW equilibrium 

Denotation and Connotation

This picture can easily help represent a typical family setting where the mother and son are having a meal around the table but the connotation behind it is that the setting seems rather quite

• dull
• dark
• lonely

These type of effect could portray a sinical point of view to the image and show depression at the same time.

Enigma

In this picture the denontation in this picture that of a woman simply doing some gardening although the connotation is very different becaue she is in her kitchen. although this does comply to the saying that life is not a bed of roses. so this can in a sense can talk about life and how it can seem so daunting at times: Life is not a bed of roses, all the time, but the right approach to life can help you create a full and vibrant existence. Therefore the woman in this picture could feel as if as a house wife she may do too much and that is leaving her depressed and to view life in a dauting way as mentioned before.
